What Happens During the Procedure?
The Day of Surgery
Eyelid ptosis repair is a relatively brief surgical procedure and is performed on an outpatient basis. This means that you’ll be able to return home once the procedure is over. Local anesthesia is often used for this procedure, which typically takes between one and two hours to complete, depending on the specifics of your treatment plan.
The Procedure Itself
During the procedure, your surgeon will carefully place incisions such that they are easily hidden by your facial features, typically running along your eyelid’s naturally formed crease. The muscles and tissues that are causing your eyelids to sag or droop will be expertly tightened before the incisions are meticulously closed and your surgery is complete.
After the Surgery
Once the surgery is complete, you’ll be moved to a comfortable recovery area, where you’ll spend some time waking up. You’ll need a friend to drive you home as the anesthesia continues to wear off, and you can then begin the recovery period. We’ll provide everything you need to stay as comfortable as possible.
