Lower Body Lift

Lower Body Lift – Combination Body Contouring Surgery – Phoenix and Scottsdale, AZ

BODY LIFT AZ SURGEONS OVERVIEW

Bringing aesthetic changes and improving appearance of the torso, abdomen, thighs, and buttocks can be accomplished with multiple plastic surgeries called a lower body lift. At Elite Plastic Surgery in Phoenix, AZ, our plastic and reconstructive surgeons, Dr. Rozbeh Torabi and Dr. Radbeh Torabi, can combine several lift procedures at the same time to remove excess skin on the lower body. This process will dramatically eliminate the unwanted fat (resistant to diet and exercise), and excess skin to create a sleeker, slimmer body contour. Through a private consultation, our plastic surgeons can make suggestions about surgical excision and nonsurgical (laser and ultrasonic fat removal, liposuction, and CoolSculpting®) body contouring procedures based on your particular case. Although results and techniques may vary, your personalized treatment plan can get you on the path to a firmer, leaner you.

REASONS FOR LBL

Many patients seek a lower body lift for the following reasons:
  • Stubborn fat that resides in the abdominal wall, thighs, and buttocks
  • Lax skin in multiple areas on the lower body
  • Have lost a significant amount of body weight
  • Want to change the shape of body for a more attractive figure

BODY LIFT SURGICAL TECHNIQUE

As discussed in your treatment planning session, there will be multiple procedures completed at once during a lower body lift. Common procedures performed within a lower body lift are a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), panniculectomy, thigh lift, and butt lift. The surgical techniques will be discussed with you, along with the risks and what type of scar it will make. Our diligent plastic surgeons will take the necessary precautions to hide scarring, made by the incisions, within the natural folds and creases of your skin. We can also mask or obliterate scars with nonsurgical scar removal procedures or paramedical micropigmentation once the wounds are fully healed.

DURING/AFTER BODY LIFT SURGERY

All of the lower body lift procedures will be performed at a local hospital or an accredited surgical center with a general anesthetic. Depending on the number of procedures performed within your lower body lift, the length of your operation could last 3 – 4 hours or longer. You may be required to spend several nights in the hospital so that your progress can be monitored as this is a very extensive procedure. Your post-operation nurse will also manage your level of pain and provide post-op incision care.

BODY LIFT RECOVERY TIME AND HEALING

Once you are recovering at home, we ask that you rest for at least 2 weeks post-op and continue to take all medications you were prescribed. Swelling and bruising are normal body responses to this surgery, and it may take 6 months or more to fully recover. Delayed healing, bleeding, scarring, infection, and blood clotting in the legs are all risks that can be avoided with precaution and care. You will need to make gentle movements starting on the day after your surgery to keep your blood circulating. Wear compression garments as recommended by your plastic surgeon, but especially wear the abdominal compression garment for the first 12 weeks. You may be able to resume strenuous activities in week 8, or at the recommendation of your plastic surgeon.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Though differences are visible within the first week, it takes 6 – 12 months before the optimal appearance becomes apparent in your body contour. Your skin will continue to age, and you will still experience a skin laxity change over the course of your lifetime. It is truly important to adhere to a healthy lifestyle and exercise regimen after a lower body lift so that you can enjoy the results of this surgery for many years.

BEAUTIFUL YOU WITH LBL SURGERY

When you are at your goal weight and it has stabilized, you may be left with unwanted excessive skin that will not be remedied by more diet and exercise. Many patients of Dr. Torabi need a surgical intervention to achieve that last step in their body transformation. We also see patients that have mature skin that has lost its elasticity, and want to reshape their lower body and remove the lax skin. We would love to schedule a consultation with you to discuss how you could benefit from a lower body lift.
